Two-wheeler and four-wheeler automobile owners can link their Aadhaar to - a) get a new driving license, and b) renew the existing one. UIDAI's new Aadhaar-based verification guidelines are designed to reduce the use of duplicate and fake driving licenses.

According to India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, fake documents account for more than 30% of the country's total driving licenses.

Step 1 - Visit the sarathi parivahan sarathi parivahan website of the state where the driving license was issued.

Step 2 - Select the 'Your States' on the computer screen.

Step 3 - Go to the Search for  "Others" option and Click.

Step 4 - A drop-down menu will appear. Click on the 'Mobile Number Update' option.

Step 5 -Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number.

Step 6 - Click on the 'Authenticate' button.

Step 7 - There will be two blank spaces to enter 'Aadhaar No.' and 'Mobile No.' in that box.

Step 8 - Enter the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.

Step 9 - Re-check and submit the details provided.

Step 10 - A Time Password(OTP) will be sent to the registered mobile number for verification.

Step 1 – First of all, you need to visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) that issued your driving license.

Step 2 – Second, get in touch with its executive and get the Aadhaar linking form.

Step 3 – Thirdly, fill the form with all the correct information and make sure to check the duly filled form. You need to enter your Aadhaar number as well as your driving license number in the form.

Step 4 - Next, submit the duly filled form to the authorized executive and attach self-attested copies of your driving license and Aadhaar card.

Step 5 – Verification and evaluation will be done by the RTO. Once the verification is done, you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number confirming that your driving license is linked to your Aadhaar card.
